YOUTH SUMMER MISSION TRIP TO
CHICAGO!!!
Saturday, June
23 through Sunday, July 1, 2012! For all youth in 8th
through 12th grades, friends welcome!

We will live and work in the city of
Chicago. Our trip will be filled with meaning and
laughter, as we work hard and play hard. Together, we
will share new experiences that will help us grow together in God's
compassion and love, coming home with many stories to
tell.
PF YOUTH GROUP
SCHEDULE...
Friday, May
11th, 5:30pm-9:30pm...
We will travel to Liberty Christian Center in Hartford to
participate in a youth event called, "Put A Little Something On
It!" We will share a time of fellowship, worship and fun with
youth from across the state. We will depart First Church in
the bus at 5:45pm and return at 9:30pm. We'll be stopping for
ice cream at Friendly's in Avon on the way home. Cost for the
entire evening is $10 (includes ice cream at friendly's). PF
member Gabby Cusano will be speaking at the event and the Uncommon
Worship Band will be one of a few bands leading a couple of
songs. I hope you can join us for what is sure to be a
fantastic evening.

Sunday, May 20th, 3:30-6pm... PF Hike
and Pizza! We'll meet at the church, hop on the bus, and go
for a hike led by PF Advisor, Patti Scanlon. During our hike
we'll stop at a lookout while Kevin leads us through a guided
reflection and prayer. After the hike we'll go
for pizza at Little City (please bring $10 for your pizza).
Monday, May 21st, 2:15-6pm... Tutoring in
Hartford! Hop on the church bus after school in the SHS
parking lot (next to the tennis courts) and we'll stop off for a
quick snack at DD's before driving to Hartford to spend the
afternoon with the students of Kennelly Elementary
School.
Sunday, May 27th, No PF Youth Group
(Memorial Day)
Sunday, June 3rd, 6-9pm... PF Youth Group Closing
Picnic and Celebration! It's our last night
of regular PF. We'll hop on the church bus and drive to
Penwood State Park for a cookout, games, a celebration of our
seniors, and a closing devotion.
Monday, June 4th, 2:15-6pm... Tutoring in
Hartford! Hop on the church bus after school in the SHS

WHAT IS PF YOUTH GROUP,
ANYWAY?
PF stands for Pilgrim
Fellowship. Pilgrim Fellowship has been the name of the
Sr. High Youth Group at First Church for hundreds
of years. It dates back to the pilgrims who first came
here in search of religious freedom and it still fits because
all of us, especially teenagers, are pilgrims on a
journey.
PF is for all 9th through 12th
graders no matter your religious background, ideas about God, or
anything else. Everyone is welcome. PF is a place for
you and your friends to play, discuss, worship, grow, serve, and
love. PF is a place for teenagers to journey together in
faith.
PF meets on Sunday nights from 7-9
pm in the Youth Room at First Church where we play games
and discuss relevant topics in an engaging way. PF also
meets outside of the regular Sunday night time for weekend
retreats, serving meals at soup kitchens, tutoring elementary
school students in Hartford, summer immersion/mission trips,
